You guys! Thanksgiving is next week! Last year, I sold table centerpieces to make your table pop, but this year I thought I would inspire you to make your own Thanksgiving flower centerpiece! Yes, you!
The above arrangement I designed using almost completely foraged items from around my yard and neighborhood, and a few dried things I had lying around.
The dried lotus pods were from last year, but you can always use pine cones or even supplement with a few flowers from the grocery store. And the dried orange slices are perfect for tying napkins together, or stringing together to make a fall garland (I also use them at Christmas time too! So festive!). But can you believe most of this is desert foliage? I focused on finding beautiful textures and embraced the desert vibe of Arizona.
As for the vessel, I literally found it at the thrift store! It's the perfect cozy green and it's maybe 5 or 6 inches diameter, just to give you a reference. If you want to create something low that people can still look over, you could also use a regular bowl. For something tall and grand, get out that vase we all have shoved away somewhere, and go for it!
Do you decorate your table for Thanksgiving? Let me know if you end up foraging for your table this holiday. I'd love to see pictures over on my instagram @poesyfloralstudio.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
